Where your project comes first and building protection is what we do every day.
Professional Fire and Security, LLC has served Huntsville and North Alabama since 2004 with reliable fire alarm, security, CCTV, and access control systems. We work with contractors and commercial property owners to install certified life safety systems that protect buildings and the people inside them.
Our support continues long after the install. We provide annual certified inspections, fire suppression inspections, system repairs, technical support, and twenty four seven emergency monitoring. We help facility managers stay code compliant, fully certified, and protected year after year.
Our work is backed by more than thirty five years of fire and building safety code experience. Our NICET level 3 and level 4 consultants oversee every system, and our technicians are certified by the AESBL and licensed for fire alarm installation and repair by the state of Alabama. We hold every project to the highest state certification standards.
We are an Alabama Certified Licensed Subcontractor serving everything from small privately owned salons to major commercial facilities. Our portfolio includes shopping centers, manufacturing plants, apartment complexes, hotels, and office buildings such as Bridge Street Town Centre, Remington Arms, the FBI complex, Missile Defense, and Aurora Luxury Apartments.
Our team works directly with contractors to stay on schedule, control costs, and adjust to constant changes across each phase of construction. Customers rely on us to guide them through complex safety codes so they reach a smooth final inspection and a clean CO with no surprises.
The idea for Professional Fire & Security came from a former company much like it. While the founder, Steve Barnard, was working as a head technician for an auxiliary building systems firm for eight years, he got some unexpected news one day that the owner had made plans to retire early and sell the business.
With a wife nine months pregnant and no job prospects, he was faced with a challenge or an opportunity. He decided to make it an opportunity. Using a spare room and his garage as a launching point, he became a fire alarm equipment distributor and landed a few small installation jobs.
Soon, Steve was troubleshooting and repairing systems for several customers. He began installing phone systems for office suites, intercom systems for schools and nurse call systems for nursing homes.
Our Name
Beginning with "Professional Fire & Sound" to reflect the audio systems offered at the time. We later dropped the “sound” from the name and officially changed it to Professional Fire & Security, LLC.
Now, in its third and larger office, with a fleet of vans and 11 employees, PFS focuses its priority on building safety and security installation, maintenance and inspections.
